HELIPIX

Helipix were recently commissioned for 3D aerial video work at Warren Wood Paintballing Centre in Herts to film shots for a new Sky television programme series due to start in mid June.

The UAV was fitted with the latest lightweight 3D video camera and flown by our pilot Dave Fisher. Dave is an Britsh F3C Champion pilot who runs Flyin' Fish, a West London based radio controlled flying school. The director of the shoot put Dave's skills to the test with low level flying through and around trees whist the paintballers were in action. Even though the weather was blustery the MK under Dave's skilled control was more than capable of getting the shots the director wanted. His flying skills were certainly put to the test when he was accidentally hit by several paintballs whilst flying and filming!

The programme, ,Britain and Ireland from the Sky' , due to be screened on 3D and 2D television on Sky in mid June. The series of 8 programmes feature stunning 3D films about the various aspects of Britain and will be screened over 4 weeks with 2 episodes per week. The Warren Wood paintball teams were a great bunch of people to work with who all really created the action for us to film. As a consequence we all had a great time - many thanks to all for making it a very successful day!
